The first iteration of the Museum of Ordinary Objects at Harkat Studios, Mumbai. All the objects were crowdsourced through an open call. The museum was active for a week. The space transformed as visitors were allowed to barter their objects with others that people donated and didn't want back.

An iteration of the Museum of Ordinary Objects developed at Studio Safdar in Delhi. Volunteers and community leads worked for a month to listen to the community around the studio. They collected objects and this resulted in a week long public exhibition at Studio Safdar.

Gujral Foundation

An exhibition presented at 24, Jor Bagh in collaboration with the Gujral Foundation. This edition brought the project into a new context with a film and the objects and stories within it being the trigger point for a museum to come around it. The film explored the demise of a romantic relationship. And the museum revolved around similar themes.

An edition of the Museum of Ordinary Objects focused on keys. Keys that we forget in drawers, that we carry everyday, forgotten keys, lost keys. All keys hold immense memories of spaces they give us access to.

Online - Ghar Ek Museum

Developed online during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ghar Ek Museum brought the Museum of Ordinary Objects into domestic spaces. The project considered the home as a museum and invited people to look again at the objects around them.

Film Objects

A new iteration of the Museum of Ordinary Objects centred on objects connected to cinema and the material histories of filmmaking. Developed as part of the Alti-Palti Arts Festival in Mumbai, this edition brings together film artefacts, equipment, traces, and the stories carried by objects from moving-image practice.
